That's my sixth award. I've been growing plants and writing about plants and gardens, and photographing plants, for many years and have written for most of the major gardening magazines and book publishers. I've published more than twenty books, won five (now six!) writing awards - on both sides of the Atlantic - and been shortlisted for more. I'm a judge at the Chelsea Flower Show and member of a number of Royal Horticultural Society committees. These days I garden in both Northamptonshire in England, and in Pennsylvania. Here at GrahamRice.com you read about my background, you read some of my work online, you can read reviews of my books on the individual books pages and order copies from amazon.com or amazon.co.uk. Some titles even have their own websites. On my blog at, Transatlantic Plantsman, I discuss (and sometimes sound off about about) plants, plant books, nurseries, garden wildlife and occasionally other Transatlantic matters. Join me there and have your say. After four years working as Editor-in-Chief writing and compiling the largest book on perennials ever written, the Encyclopedia of Perennials which describes almost 7,000 plants, it was published last year in a British edition with the Royal Horticultural Society, in an American edition with the American Horticultural Society and also in a Canadian edition. Other editions are on the way. I also worked on a very different book, All-in-One Garden, which reveals how easy it is to grow ornamental herbs and vegetables with flowers the same beds, borders and containers to create a gaden that really does taste as good as it looks. This is also out. Yoiu can catch up on my magazine work in The Garden, The Plantsman, American Gardener and elsewhere and other projects continue as works in progress. Thank you for visiting GrahamRice.com - don't forget to check out my blog... You can see the headlines from my latest posts over on the right.
