The National Gardens Scheme's website, which includes
GardenFinder, the Scheme's unique search and mapping
facility.
Institute of Horticulture. The Institute of Horticulture is
the authoritative organisation representing all those
professionally engaged in Horticulture in the UK &
Ireland.
The RHS website. The site provides information and details
of Membership, RHS Gardens, Flower Shows, Educational
facilities, the Lindley Library, Publications and Journals
and other benefits.
The electronic version of the book.
Internet Directory for Botany. Maintained by Raino Lampinen,
Anthony Brach and Shunguo Liu, this is by far the best list
of botanical sites on the World Wide Web. A local copy of
this site is included on the professional edition of The
Plant Finder Reference Library which can be browsed without
any on-line cost. However, for up-to-date information, visit
the site directly.
UK Database of
Historic Parks and Gardens. A web version of this useful
database produced by Landscapes & Gardens at the
University of York, describing nearly 3500 UK parks and
gardens and their designers. An extract of this information
also appears on the Professional Edition of the Plant Finder
Reference Library CD as a searchable card index database.
Gardening-UK. A useful directory of on-line plant and
gardening catalogues. As well as links to suppliers' own
sites, some of the catalogues are presented attractively and
in detail on the site itself.
Virtual Garden. Virtual Garden provides news, features,
advice and information for gardeners. Extensive searching
features on this large site help in tracking down elusive
reviews and sources.
PLANTS. The website of the garden plants magazine...
up-to-date news, information and more written by serious
garden enthusiasts for serious garden enthusiasts.
British Gardening On-line. Showcase for many suppliers plus
garden finder, articles and more...
Graham's Paradise Garden. Graham Leatherbarrow's tiny city
garden is open to the public as part of the National Gardens
Scheme. This engrossing website provides a virtual tour of
the garden, packed with photographs, cultivation tips and
notes and links to plant sources.
Nicky's Nursery. Flower seeds, plants for garden, patio
& containers and everything for hanging baskets...
including useful info, on-line ordering and even greeting
cards with a difference.
Paul Christian ~ Rare Plants. Specialist bulb supplier based
in North Wales. The Rare Plants website includes on-line
catalogue plus helpful information and an excellent photo
gallery.
Yvonnes Plants. Small plant nursery, specialising in tender
and herbaceous perennials, based near Brighton, Sussex, UK.
Also offers garden services in and around Brighton,
Woodingdean and Rottingdean.
The Association of Gardens Trusts. The Association of
Gardens Trusts is the national organisation representing the
growing number of County Gardens Trusts which are actively
engaged in researching, documenting and caring for our
heritage of parks, gardens and designed landscapes. The aims
of the AGT are to provide support for the Trusts and to
promote a proper understanding of the importance of parks
and gardens at a local and national level.
