Nicotiana
(Flowering
tobacco) A breakthrough colour when
it was first introduced in the mid 1990s, it
originated as a branch sport in a planting of
'Nicki' nicotianas in a British park. The material
was passed to Floranova, the British plant
breeders, who lead the world in nicotiana breeding,
where the colour was bred first into the Domino
Series, then the dwarfer Merlin Series. Crossing
this material with the popular lime greens led to
the development of unusual and very attractive
'Merlin Peach'. ©copyright
